refundmore.com Established in 2015 the Danish startup Refundmore aims to help European passengers get the compensation they are entitled to.

The flight companies are often reluctant when it comes to paying the compensation directly to the consumer. Refundmores experienced lawyers know the law in depth and will take the air carriers to court if necessary.

Last week, our team headed to Berlin for a few days of collaboration, problem-solving and, of course, our annual summer party☀️

On Thursday, some of us took part in a Hackathon, working together on new ideas and challenges, while others joined forces to work through a big batch of cases and keep things moving for our customers.

Then on Friday, it was time for the party🎉 More than 200 colleagues from Berlin, Copenhagen, Budapest, Egypt, Spain and Ukraine came together for a day filled with activities, great conversations and the chance to spend time with colleagues we normally only see through a screen.

A great couple of days with a great group of people. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, and to our colleagues from across the different offices for making the trip so memorable 💙

Sometimes you have to brave the bad weather and just get out for a run🏃

At least that’s what a bunch of our colleagues did last Friday when Refundmore participated in this year’s DHL Relay in Copenhagen.

The weather wasn’t exactly at its best, but fortunately that didn’t put an end to a nice evening of running, music and good company 💙

And a special shoutout to our HR for good planning and a very nicely decorated Refundmore tent 👏

Cheap flights via a third party can seem like a brilliant shortcut 💸✈️

But if something goes wrong, it can quickly become… a little less brilliant.

When you book through an OTA or price agent, you may risk:
- that changes from the airline do not reach you
- that your ticket cannot be found at the airline
- the flight number is missing from your booking confirmation
- that you can only change the trip through third-party support
- that missed connections give fewer rights if the flights are booked separately
- that compensation/refund ends up with the provider

Our best advice?
Always check your booking directly with the airline shortly after purchase, and keep everything as documentation.

Celebrating EC261✈️
Last week, we gathered in our office to celebrate that the proposed weakening of EC261 has been rejected — something we have worked on for months.

We are very happy that air passenger rights have been taken seriously. That said, there’s still work to do. Compensation amounts haven’t moved with inflation in 20+ years — hopefully that’s the next chapter. For now, we’re celebrating that the passenger rights we fight for every day remain untouched.

We know we’re not the ones who made this happen alone, but we’re proud of the part we played here, and grateful to the people who made it possible. Thank you to Lead Agency for helping us bring this important topic to the media, and to our dedicated lawyer Benedikte for showing up at the Parliament and taking the passengers’ side.

Kerosene is a type of fuel used to power aircraft engines. It is essential for aviation, as it provides the energy needed to get planes up and flying. Kerosene prices directly affect airlines, as they make up a large part of their operating costs. When kerosene becomes more expensive, it can lead to higher airfares and more uncertainty for travelers.

Airlines have already started canceling flights, but passengers are entitled to a refund or alternative transportation.

If the cancellation occurs within 14 days before departure, you may also be entitled to compensation.
