You’ve just put on the rain jacket and it's cold out - you turn around and it's over 30 degrees in the shade again. The summer weather in Germany is up and down - AND - there are a few things to consider - here are two small tips:
- On very hot days, you should not fill up the car completely with fuel, as the fuel expands when it is very hot. This can cause the tank to overflow, causing damage to the paintwork and, in the worst case, the car can even catch fire.
- In addition, road damage can also occur in very hot temperatures because the tar can deform in the heat. So be aware of road damages in very hot weather.

The white flowering wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa) is omnipresent in the forest. It blooms just before the book breaks out and leads to the unmistakable image of the spring forest here. The related Balkan anemone (Anemone blanda) has established itself in many gardens.
The bright blue-violet captivates, but there are also pink and white varieties. What is special about the lovely anemones is that the flowers are initially bent downwards like little bells. The little head is only lifted shortly before flowering. In this phase, a few hesitant rays of sunshine are enough for the blossom to open rapidly.

IMPORTANT! In Germany it is compulsory to have winter tires on the vehicle during the winter period (from 1st Nov to 15th April). However, not all winter tires or all-season tires are recognized as real winter tires, so you should seek advice from a tire dealer and/or make sure that your winter tires also have the appropriate snowflake symbol or the M&S mark (mud and snow). With some manufacturers the snow flake is additionally marked with three mountain peaks. Of course, it must also be ensured that the tread on the winter tires is sufficient for proper use and that it is not worn - pay particular attention to stored winter tires.If you get stopped by the police during the winter period without winter tires – you will be fined with one point in Flensburg and if involved in an accident that was not your fault be made partially responsible and your insurance will not cover the claim completely.
So take care and make sure to have your winter tires on by lasts the 1st November.

Winter tires!
As you should be well aware winter tires are required by German law for the winter period. Some insurance companies MAY NOT pay your claim should you have had summer tires on your car and had an accident. Consider having all year round tires fitted -then you do not have the additional costs for winter tires.
