On the first of January, 2022, P24 introduced a four-day work week where employees only work four days a week on a full salary to achieve better work-life balance.
According to a study, 54% of all respondents would opt for a four-day work week instead of a salary increase. It is said that motivated employees are more productive and can therefore perform 100% at 80% of the time. Our Managing Director goes one step further and reduces the weekly number of working hours from 40 hours to 32 hours, and as I said, on a full salary! The so-called ‘100-80-100 theory’ is confirmed: 100% of contractual compensation, 80% of the time, providing they deliver 100% of the agreed productivity.
Starting with the fact that our employees gain more flexibility throughout the four-day week, they are in turn more life-loving. Moreover, the four-day week increases efficiency and ensures fewer sick days overall. “Since working only four days a week, I have much more time to take care of my health, do more sports and have noticed that I get sick less often”, says Agnieszka, our Marketing Manager. In addition, the four-day week improves mental health and reduces the feeling of stress.
Additionally, the standard of living of our employees significantly increased as a result of the four-day week. Personal appointments and errands can be attended to on the day off, so the weekend can be used more for downtime and relaxation. This gives them more time for their private lives and thus a better work-life balance. “Finally, I have more time for myself, my family and friends, and I can keep up with home and pursue my hobbies." says Janet, our Head of Customer Support.
Our employees are far more at ease and thus start the new working week energised, motivated and focussed. It turns out that productivity increased by 40%, and it has led to a higher level of commitment and a deeper sense of connection to the company.
In a nutshell, we can highly recommend the four-day week, as our employees are more satisfied than ever. They are happy to be part of the P24 Group and grateful to enjoy their four-day week. They identify and connect strongly with our company, and are generally happier in ours.
