WIDU.africa is a digital platform that mobilises diaspora remittances into sustainable investments to support the development of micro and small businesses in Kenya. Our goal is to empower local Kenyan entrepreneurs, create new job opportunities and strengthen the local economy. Through a transparent, reliable and safe channel, WIDU.af

rica allows members of the diaspora to support their friends and family by jointly applying for our financing instruments. WIDU is always free of charge.

Once the investment plan is approved, WIDU.africa provides technical support through three tailored coaching sessions and disburses a grant that matches the contributions of both applicants, up to 3โ€™000โ‚ฌ. Stay informed about our Local Calls through our social media channels. These are time-limited thematic financing opportunities of up to 5โ€™000โ‚ฌ that do not require diaspora participation.



๐—ช๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—น๐˜†? Kenyan residing in one of the 27 countries of the European Union, Norway or Switzerland can participate in the programme and support their friends and family in Kenya. On the beneficiary side, all project leaders and entrepreneurs, regardless of sector, are eligible to apply. The only exception is Local Calls that require specific thematic eligibility criteria. WIDU.africa works to support local entrepreneurs in eight other African countries: Cรดte dโ€™Ivoire, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia

On the occasion of International Women's Day, we highlight women entrepreneurs who are creating opportunities and driving change in their communities.

Meet Grace Moreka, founder of Amore Kenya, a clothing and branding social enterprise based in Nairobi. More than a fashion business, Amore is a platform for empowerment โ€” equipping women and youth with practical garment-making skills that open doors to employment, income, and long-term independence.

Today, the enterprise employs 13 people, including 10 women, showing how women-led businesses can generate both economic and social impact.

With support from WIDU.africa, Grace strengthened her production capacity by acquiring new sewing machines and modern branding equipment, enabling the business to serve clients more efficiently while creating more local opportunities.

Her journey shows how women entrepreneurs are turning creativity into opportunity and building stronger communities.
