🏠The most popular and simple way to obtain a residence permit in Northern Cyprus is by purchasing real estate.
This is because the government has several incentives for foreign buyers, including a quick and easy application process, low real estate prices, and low living costs. Therefore, in recent years, the demand for buying property in this country has grown significantly.
🏠Here are some essential conditions to keep in mind:
🔹According to the contract, the owner must pay at least 1/3 of the property sale as down payment.
🔹Children under 18 automatically receive a residence permit, and spouses – as an applicant for the same property (family residence permit).
🔹You must own the property for at least 3 years and renew your temporary residence every year during this period. After this three-year period, you can extend your temporary residence every 2 years for another 3 years. Finally, when 6 years have passed since the purchase of the property, it will be possible for you to obtain a permanent residence in North Cyprus.
🏠Documents required to obtain a residence permit in Northern Cyprus
Here is a list of documents that foreigners have to prepare to obtain a TRNC residence permit:
🔹Proof of financial stability, such as bank statements from a TRNC bank or a foreign financial institution.
🔹Sales contract for real estate.
🔹A Muhtar’s Certificate (from a local official) confirming the foreigner’s address.
🔹Two photos sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm.
🔹Passport and its copy.
🔹Residence permit application.
🔹Medical insurance.
🔹Marriage certificate (if applicable).
🔹Certificate of no criminal record.
🔹Birth certificates of children (if applicable).
🔹Receipt for payment of the state fee.
🔹Certificate of medical examination results.
