The July edition of Andersen European Employment Insights explores the legal and practical developments shaping today's workplace.
In this month's Partner Spotlight, Matteo Amici (Andersen Italy) discusses what employers need to consider when implementing AI systems, from algorithmic bias in recruitment and transparency obligations to meaningful human oversight and the growing importance of AI governance.
Several trends are likely to shape employer compliance in the coming months:
• Employers face heightened scrutiny regarding workplace health and safety, particularly with new measures and inspections introduced to protect employees from heat-related risks during the summer season;
• Significant legislative reforms are altering dismissal protections and fixed-term contracts in certain jurisdictions, seeking to balance employer flexibility with employee security;
• National courts continue to clarify rules surrounding probationary period dismissals, non-compete agreements, and occupational diseases.
Whether you are managing a local workforce or coordinating HR across multiple jurisdictions, these insights offer a practical overview of the latest legal developments across Europe.

🔦 Partner Spotlight
One of the key themes of this edition is the EU Pay Transparency Directive.

The conversation highlights an important point: for many employers, the real challenge is not the principle of equal pay itself, but the practical implementation of the new requirements.
