BUSINESS WEEK 2026: UBC reaffirms its commitment to educating and supporting the younger generation at ESSEC Business School in Douala.
From 10 to 16 May 2026, ESSEC Business School in Douala vibrated to the rhythm of Business Week, a major event dedicated to innovation, employability and bridging the gap between the academic world and socio-economic stakeholders. Over six days, students, lecturers, businesses and professionals came together for conferences, workshops, exhibitions and professional networking events designed to promote career guidance, entrepreneurship and the integration of young talent into the workforce.
As a major partner of this year’s event, Union Bank of Cameroon Plc. made a mark through its active presence and strong commitment to education and youth support. Through its participation, the bank demonstrated its desire to make a tangible contribution to the training of Cameroon’s next generation of professionals and entrepreneurs.
Throughout the week, students engaged in enriching exchanges with the bank’s teams in a dynamic setting that fostered learning and an introduction to the professional world. Lectures, interactive workshops, and career-focused sessions enabled the students to better understand the demands of the job market, the skills sought by employers, and the opportunities available in the banking and financial sector.
True to its mission of engaging with young people, Union Bank of Cameroon has also launched several initiatives designed to introduce students to financial services and promote their financial inclusion. Participants were able to open accounts and receive practical advice on financial management, thereby better preparing them for the workforce.
Beyond its role as a sponsor, the bank has distinguished itself as a true educational partner, committed to investing in young people’s potential and supporting their professional success. This commitment reflects UBC’s vision: to provide long-term support to Cameroonian youth in their academic, entrepreneurial, and professional journeys.
In a welcoming and festive atmosphere, featuring food stalls, entertainment, games, and relaxation areas, the 2026 edition successfully created a vibrant setting for exchange and discovery.
Through this initiative, Union Bank of Cameroon Plc.’s remarkable participation demonstrates its ongoing commitment to education, employability, and support for the younger generation as they move toward a promising professional future.
