Stakeholders Unite Around Vision for an Africa Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Hub

The first-ever Africa ESG Forum, held at the Sofitel Hotel in Abidjan, brought together public and private stakeholders to discuss environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure and sustainable finance in Africa.

A key highlight of the forum was the launch of the Africa ESG Information Disclosure Hub project. This initiative aims to foster consensus among stakeholders on establishing a centralised platform that will enhance transparency and facilitate investor access to vital ESG data across the continent. The hub will support the integration of principles into the core strategies of African businesses, specifically small and medium enterprises, ultimately driving sustainable development and investment across the region.

This year’s Forum was organised by the African Development Bank, the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Finance, and Making Finance Work for Africa.
