An accomplished entrepreneur himself, Christophe Moser is now busy teaching science and engineering at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and helps the next generation of startups such as EarlySight to get off the ground.

2020 was a record fundraising year for EPFL startups – they attracted a record CHF 293 million, and four of them raised over CHF 20 million each. We have 12 EPFL startups in our portfolio and looking forward to many more.

Versantis AG announces positive phase 1b results for VS-01 in patients with decompensated cirrhosis. VS-01 is a potentially life-saving, multi-organ support therapy that aims to reverse Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (ACLF), by enhancing the clearance of ammonia and other toxins from the body. The data show VS-01 is safe and well-tolerated, with patients receiving multiple doses showing improvements in selected biomarkers and clinical cognitive tests.

Dr. Meriam Kabbaj, COO and co-Founder of Versantis commented: “The successful completion of Versantis’ first-in-human study is another great achievement I am extremely proud of."
