Let’s call it a “Friday-Tuesday”, at least in terms of our FOB market and scope it:
1. The Congress (THE LOWER HOUSE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES IN ARGENTINA) is discussing the “Law of bases” (Milei trying to develop structural changes, like new fundamental labor laws). After almost 20 hours of debate, lawmakers in the lower house on Tuesday morning backed the ‘Ley de Bases’ reform with 142 votes in favor, 106 against and five abstentions.
2. SENASA (National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality) run national strike for 72 hours.
3. Oil workers strike in Rosario. Most of San Lorenzo/Rosario complex's terminals are affected, for UNLIMITED time. Most soy plants on the Paraná, including those operated by Cargill, Cofco Corp, Louis Dreyfus Co, Viterra and Bunge Global SA, have closed their doors to truck deliveries, according to shipping and port agencies in Rosario.
Measures/Strike arises from the Unions protesting/showing rejection of the new national draft of “Bases” laws, which contemplate issues that could have a significant impact on the structure and continuity of state agencies, including SENASA.
4. Wednesday May 1st is NATIONAL HOLIDAY (Labor day)
5. Spotty rains all over the country.
6. Low farmer selling
So.. guys, for Argentina see you on "thursday-monday"? ))
