Last week photo basel took part in “The Stakes of Photography”, the First International Photography Symposium in Yerevan, in the company of Photo Elysée Photo Elysée, Centre Pompidou Centre Pompidou and many others.

Artistic Director Elwira Spychalska Elwira Spychalska spoke about photo basel and the contemporary photography market. Five days of conversations with photographers, curators and institutions from across the world, about how photography is collected, shown and valued today, and how much the medium gains when those conversations cross borders.

A warm thank you to Sona Harutyunyan Sona Harutyunyan for organising the symposium, to Christian Savini Christian for the curatorial vision behind it, and to the Embassy of Switzerland in Armenia Embassy of Switzerland in Armenia which strongly supported the Swiss presence at the symposium. Thank you!
