Stop breaking the promises you make to yourself. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Your goals deserve commitment, not excuses.

Show up, stay consistent and keep moving forward, even when you donโ€™t feel like it. Your future self will thank you. โœจ

Keep the promise.
Do the work.

Last week Friday, I had the opportunity of speaking to the young adults of Maple Leaf Foursquare Gospel Church in Winnipeg on "Building Wealth in your 20s".

Over the next few days, I will share some excerpts of my presentation.

Fun should be part of your budget too! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

You donโ€™t have to choose between enjoying your summer and protecting your savings. Create a โ€œFUNโ€ expense line in your budget and intentionally set money aside for outings, dinners, trips, concerts or whatever helps you enjoy the season. That way, you can have fun without dipping into your savings or emergency fund.

Itโ€™s called proactive financial planning: plan for the things you know youโ€™ll enjoy instead of spending first and figuring it out later.

Budget for your fun.
Enjoy it guilt-free.
Protect your future. ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐ŸŒด

You can save for years... but what if life changes overnight?

A critical illness like cancer, stroke or a heart attack doesn't just affect your health, it can affect your finances too.

Medical expenses, time away from work and everyday bills don't stop because you're recovering and that's why an emergency fund alone may not be enough.

Critical Illness Insurance provides a tax-free lump sum payment upon diagnosis of a covered condition, giving you the financial flexibility to focus on what truly matter, which is your recovery, not your bills.

Financial planning isn't just about growing your wealth. It's also about protecting it.

๐Ÿ“ฉ Send me a message if you'd like to learn how critical illness coverage can fit into your financial plan.

Too many young adults think financial planning is something to worry about "later".

The reality is that every year you delay is a year you lose the power of time. You don't need to earn six figures to start, you just need a plan.

Your future isn't built by one big financial decision. It's built by the small, consistent choices you make today.

Most people only look at the purchase price of an asset. Smart people look at the cost of owning it.

That dream car? It might come with higher fuel costs and more expensive insurance.

That bigger house? It could mean higher heating bills and increased property taxes.

Before you upgrade your lifestyle, ask yourself:
"Can I comfortably afford the asset and everything that comes with it?"

Think beyond the price tag. Think about the total cost of ownership.

What hidden cost surprised you the most after a purchase? Share it in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Before you apply for a credit card, build your emergency fund first.

A flat tire, car breakdown or unexpected bill shouldn't become expensive debt. When you have savings set aside, you can handle life's surprises without relying on credit and paying interest that keeps growing your balance.

Save first โ—‡ Borrow wisely โ—‡ Build wealth intentionally.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Comment "Emergency" if you'd like to learn how much you should have in your emergency fund.

As a follow-up to my previous video, here's also something important to keep in mind:

Some insurance advisors work under restrictions that limit them to offering only the products their company provides. Because of this, they may unintentionally or sometimes intentionally present incomplete or misleading information about insurance options they are not licensed or authorized to sell.

As a client, your responsibility is to do your due diligence. Ask questions, seek clarification and don't hesitate to get a second opinion before making an important financial decision.

A good insurance advisor doesn't just sell you a policy, they help you understand your options. They should be able to explain the different types of insurance available, walk you through the advantages and disadvantages of each and empower you to make an informed decision that best fits your needs.
