Earlier today, MPI and City of Winnipeg - Municipal Government held a press conference to talk about our combined efforts to curb insurance fraud in the rideshare industry.

Rideshare drivers are required to have specific insurance coverage that is tailored to the type of driving they do - but we've discovered that some drivers knowingly change their coverage to avoid paying their fair share of premiums and claims costs. We're working together to crack down on this fraudulent behaviour and protect the integrity of Manitoba's public insurance system.

Happy Labour Day Weekend, Manitoba!

If you're out on the roads with us this weekend, please don't drive impaired, watch your speed and use your seat belt.

Friendly reminder: September 1 means reduced speed zones are now in effect around schools in Winnipeg. Keep your speed to 30 km/h max during the hours marked and stay alert for more pedestrians and cyclists in the area as school starts back up.

Outside of Winnipeg, always follow the speed indicated on signs in designated school zones.
