Every spring MPI is thrilled to get to take part in the annual School Patrol Awards in Winnipeg. Put on by our friends at the Winnipeg Police Service and supported by CAA Manitoba, these awards celebrate the dedication Winnipeg's patrols have to keeping roads safe in their communities.

The minute those buses pull up and the patrols fill the room it's mayhem in the best way; a morning full of end-of-year energy that's unleashed as these kids get the recognition they deserve for all their hard work. Congrats to our patrols and thank you for keeping your neighbourhoods safe!

Pride month is here! Members of our team were excited to join Mayor Scott Gillingham, Pride Winnipeg and many others at City Hall on Friday for the City's Pride Flag Raising Ceremony - an important event to kick off a month of celebration, learning and reflection.

MPI exists to serve all Manitobans and we proudly support our 2SLGBTQ+ employees and customers across the province. We're looking forward to a fun month ahead and can't wait for the parade next weekend!

Honouring our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is one of the key pillars of MPI’s Multi-year Corporate Strategic Plan, which means it is a driver of everything we do.

Through open dialogue, relationship building, and respect for lived experience, Indigenous voices have helped shape our understanding of what reconciliation looks like in practice, and as a result, we have developed MPI’s very first Indigenous Action Plan.

This Action Plan translates our commitments into clear, accountable steps that strengthen relationships, remove systemic barriers, and support meaningful, lasting progress toward reconciliation across our operations.

Well, it looks like the May long weather forecast is living up to tradition in Manitoba. We might be spending more time around the bonfire than on the beach this weekend, but however you're spending it, we hope it's with the people you love.

Keep yourself, your loved ones and everyone safe by not getting behind the wheel if drugs or alcohol are part of your long weekend plans. Summer's gotta start sometime, and when it does, we want you to be able to enjoy every minute of it. Happy May long, everyone!

It's an exciting week at MPI! We're proud to launch Safer Roads, A Shared Journey - our new five year road safety strategy. This plan was built with input from customers, partners and employees, and represents our commitment to reducing serious injuries and fatalities on Manitoba's roads. We are so grateful to the more than 65 organizations and nearly 3,000 Manitobans who shared their time, experience, and perspectives to help shape the future of road safety in our province.

The strategy is aligned with Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2035+ and the principles of Vision Zero, which aims to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. We're also releasing it during Canada Road Safety Week, a national initiative that seeks to increase safe driving behaviour across the country.

MPI's Driver Z Course Finder is now updated with information about our upcoming run of condensed and limited summer courses that begin in July.

Remember, if you are or know a young driver interested in taking Driver Z this summer, tomorrow is the deadline to be signed up with MPI as a new customer and purchase the Driver Education service. Both can be done in one visit to your local broker or MPI Service Centre.

As always, capacity in each community is based on instructor availability. We've added 600 more spots and evening classes this summer, but expect there will be strong demand for registration. If you can't secure a spot this summer, our fall term is only a few months away.

MPI was proud to once again join CMMG (Coalition of Manitoba Motorcycle Groups) at their annual safety awareness rally on the steps of Manitoba’s legislature earlier today. This great event brings people together in support of road safety and helps remind everyone that sharing our roadways with riders is the best way to kick off the warmer months. Ride (and drive) safe, everyone!

Please remember to protect yourself by not clicking on any links in these messages and do not reply to the sender with any personal information. We will never ask for your private information by text or email. If you're ever unsure about a message that claims to be from us, give us a call at 204-985-7000 before taking any action.

Today MPI launched the Manitoba Collision Dashboard, a new interactive tool that provides up-to-date road safety data, including the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities occurring on Manitoba's roadways.

The dashboard gives faster and more transparent access to the data that helps inform our road safety efforts across the province, supports media inquiries and provides our partners with information to help develop prevention and enforcement initiatives across the province.

Driver Z is back for another summer! MPI is offering a condensed version of its 12 week program in 2 1/2 weeks - and for the first time, we're offering evening spots as well! We've opened up 1,200 spots for Manitoba's youngest drivers this summer - twice as many as were offered last year.

Courses will be offered in limited quantities in select communities, based on demand and instructor availability. Full details will be posted on the Driver Z Course Finder on MPI's website on Friday, May 8.

Students interested in registering MUST sign up as a new MPI customer and purchase the Driver Education service at a MPI Service Centre or Autopac broker by end of day on Saturday, May 9 to be eligible to receive an invitation for a registration window.
