MAJOR TILE JOB COMPLETE! Someone asked me the other day, How long did this take you? How many tiles did you use? What did this cost? Well…. here are the numbers, this should blow your mind! Used materials,
X62 pails of glue (13.2Litre pails) = 818.4L of glue used! That’s 205 4L jugs of milk just in GLUE!!
14 pallets of tile, 1248 tiles sized 1ft by 2ft.
Plus 1083 decorative tiles, sized 1ft by 1ft.
Plus 417 subway tiles……2,748 individual pieces of tile glued and placed by hand. One by one…
Taking me 606 hours over 73 days to place the tile. THEN 139 hours in 19 days of grouting, sealing and cleaning. GRAND TOTAL …. 745 hours and 92 days to complete this project.
The cost… let’s not even talk about that.
No floors were tiled, only walls! 7 washrooms, 3 closed stalls, 1 full shower, 2 tub surrounds, 6 vanities, 17 storage cubbies, 11 full shelves, 1 wash station, 5 backsplashes, 1 stage front and an entire bar and service area covered.
I have never tiled this much in my life and hope not to ever again lol. Thank you to my pal Victor for taking on over half of this massive challenge with me. Chris for helping me finish and Amber for filling in the gaps on the many days I couldn’t move or bend. As I shop for new body parts in the new year I hope to never see another tile or pail of glue for long long time.
