Well, it's probably time for my occasional post reminding everyone that I still do mortgages. 👋

I've been a little quieter on social media lately, but life has been wonderfully full.

⚾ 🥎 Baseball and Softball season has completely taken over our calendar.

💐 I decided in the middle of a crazy busy work and home schedule to dig a new flowerbed in the back yard. NO RAGRETZ!

🎵 I've spent an alarming amount of time memorizing the rap sections of Up by Forrest Frank in an effort to bond with my 9-year-old on the drive to piano lessons.

🏡 I've been working with some amazing clients on mortgages, refinances, and renewals — including a few files that kept me on my toes and reminded me why I love this job. I do now have a few more gray hairs....

🔨 And after talking about it for what feels like forever, our basement renovation is finally about 99% complete. 10 years of dreaming finally coming true! That also means that our old furniture went downstairs and momma bought herself a COUCH!

Buying a home is already a big enough job. My role is to take the mortgage piece off your plate and guide it from application to approval (and yes… even after possession).

Not every mortgage file is straightforward.

Sometimes the income doesn’t fit neatly into the boxes lenders like.
Sometimes life throws curveballs — divorce, career shifts, new beginnings.

This client was a single dad starting fresh. His situation needed careful attention and a lender willing to look at the full picture.

After some thoughtful work behind the scenes, we found the right path forward. Now he’s enjoying his new condo and focusing on the next chapter with his kids.

In reality, many first-time buyers in Winnipeg are purchasing with 5%.

Last year, Castle Mortgage Group split us into teams for some friendly internal competition.

Our squad met and decided on a pretty killer team name: “Lend It Like Beckham.” ⚽️

When we first sat down together, I shared what I thought was a pretty ambitious goal for the year ahead. I figured if I worked really hard, maybe I could double what I had done in 2024, which was my first partial year in this industry.

They looked at me and basically said:
“Why stop there?”

It turns out surrounding yourself with people who believe you’re capable of more than you think is a pretty powerful thing. I never would have dreamed this award was possible so early in my journey working as a mortgage specialist.

This award is a huge honour, but it really represents a lot of people:
the teammates who encouraged me to think bigger,
the referral partners who trust me with their clients,
and the incredible clients who let me be part of such an important moment in their lives.

I genuinely feel like I won the lottery getting to do this work with such great people.

Grateful for all of you. 🏡
