In Canada, there are approximately 70,000 heart attacks each year. In the U.S., 1 in every 4 deaths can be attributed to heart disease.
Do you want a healthy heart? Here are a few things you can do:
1. Live healthily - Eat nutritious foods and avoid smoking and overconsumption of alcohol.
2. Get moving - Stay active and practice functional movements
3. Prioritize dental hygiene - bacteria in the mouth can move into the bloodstream and damage your heart.
4. Get enough sleep - Lack of sleep can increase your risk of a heart attack.
5. Wash your hands - Scrub with soap and water. The flu, pneumonia, and other infections can be very hard on the heart.
