We’re winding down these final weeks of summer and soaking up as much of it as we can before school and fall schedules take over. ☀️

A new job can be an exciting move - but making an employment change before a mortgage closes can affect financing.

Lenders may verify employment, income and other financial details again before finalizing a mortgage. A change in employer, income structure, hours, probationary status or employment type could mean the application needs to be reassessed or additional documentation is required.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the mortgage can’t move forward. It means the change should be discussed with a mortgage broker as early as possible.

I can help clients understand how an employment change may affect their application, communicate with the lender, review documentation requirements and explore alternative solutions when needed.
