Today marks 20 years since we lost Senior Constable John Atkinson — a dedicated officer, community leader, and proud St. Clair College alumnus.

We are honoured to announce this year's recipients of the WFCU Credit Union John Atkinson Memorial Scholarship, Kyle Deslippe and Darelle Vaughan.

Established in 2017, the annual scholarship recognizes two students from St. Clair College's Protection, Security & Investigation or Police Foundations programs. These students embody the same commitment to service that defined John's life.

John graduated from St. Clair College's Law and Security Administration program in 1989 and was tragically killed in the line of duty on May 5, 2006, while serving the Windsor-Essex community he loved.

Congratulations to this year's recipients. Carry John’s legacy with pride. 💙
