Back in the studio 🎙️✨

While in Halifax attending National Conference, I had the opportunity to sit down for a very special podcast conversation focused on my journey as an advisor, how I got into this industry, and the values that continue to shape the way I do business today.

What makes this even more meaningful is that this year marks the 5 year anniversary of the Discovery Series: Unplugged podcast — and I was honoured to be one of the original guests back on Episode 10 in 2023. Such a full circle moment. 💚

Our conversation focused on four major themes:

✨ Community
✨ Connection
✨ Collaboration
✨ Consistency

We talked about everything from growing up around community initiatives like Coats for Kids, to finding purpose beyond my originally planned career path, to building relationships through networking, community involvement, and social media.

We also touched on mentorship, teamwork, advisor succession planning, resilience, and how personal life experiences shape the way we lead, support others, and serve our clients.

So grateful for opportunities like this to reflect, share my story, and connect with such incredible people from across the country.

What an incredible few days at the Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network National Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia 🌊⚓️

From insightful discussions on building a high-value practice, scalable growth, and serving business owners more effectively, to thought-provoking sessions on unconscious bias, leadership, and the global economic outlook — this conference delivered so much value both professionally and personally.

Hearing from Mikaël Kingsbury was incredibly inspiring, but the highlight of the conference for me was the closing keynote from Chris Hadfield. His perspective on preparing for the future, leadership, adaptability, and pushing beyond limits is something I’ll carry forward.

Beyond the learning, Halifax gave us the full east coast experience — including Lobster Fest, live music from Signal Hill, amazing networking, and yes… I officially tried my first full lobster 🦞

We also enjoyed great entertainment from SQUID and the Highland dancers. SQUID brought an amazing energy to the Excellence Awards Gala night, making it a memorable celebration to close out the conference.

Grateful to be part of a network that continues to invest in growth, leadership, innovation, and the future of our industry. Looking forward to bringing back new ideas, strategies, and inspiration to better serve my clients and continue growing my business.

Financial planning isn’t just about investing — it’s about looking at the full picture: protecting what matters, planning for taxes, growing your wealth, and preparing for the future.

With tax season underway, it’s a great time to think about how your refund or extra savings could support your overall financial plan — whether that’s contributing to an RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, RESP, or aligning with your broader goals.

Small, strategic decisions today can make a big difference over time.

Great day of learning and collaboration at our Professional Development Day in Vaughan.

We kicked off the morning with an inspiring session from Joanne Kudakiewicz on building your business through philanthropy. She shared the importance of getting involved in your community, supporting causes you care about, and even sitting on local boards. Not only does it allow you to give back, but it also places you in rooms with people you may not have otherwise met — creating meaningful connections and expanding your perspective.

We also heard about the Evolution program and what’s ahead for this year, along with sessions on advanced insurance strategies, portfolio construction, and practical tools like the Life Design Analysis. Thank you Erin Meisner, CHS, PFA, MFA-P and Bill Clunas for sharing your insights and best practices for this strategic tool.

Days like this are a great reminder of how important it is to continue investing in our knowledge so we can better serve the families and businesses who trust us with their financial planning.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the discussion on Elevating Women — from supporting characters to leading roles. As a woman building a business in this industry, conversations like this are both powerful and motivating. Thank you Kyra Droog, BBA, CFP, CLU from Sunlife for delivering this empowering presentation.

Last year, I was honoured to be named one of Insurance Business Canada’s Elite Women in Insurance.

This year, I’m incredibly grateful to share that I’ve been named again to the 2026 Elite Women list. ✨

Across Canada, 73 women were recognized for the impact they’re making in the insurance industry, representing organizations across carriers, brokerages, financial services firms, and industry associations. The recognition highlights leadership, professional achievements over the past year, and contributions that advance both client outcomes and the broader industry.

For me, this work has always been about more than policies or investments. It’s about helping families build financial security, supporting clients through life’s biggest moments, and making sure people have a plan in place when it matters most.

Building my business in this industry has been an incredible journey. As a woman in this profession, I’m grateful for the support, mentorship, and community around me that continues to encourage growth, leadership, and lifting others up along the way.

To the incredible women across this industry who are leading, building, and lifting others up — it’s an honour to be included alongside you.

When women support, uplift, and invest in one another, incredible things happen. The more we give-our time, knowledge, mentorship, and encouragement-the more we gain as individuals, as leaders, and as a community.

In business, in leadership, and in life - the more we give, the more we create opportunities for others to rise.

l've always believed that empowering others is one of the most powerful ways to create change. Whether it's helping clients take control of their finances, mentoring other advisors, or supporting women in business, giving back is what drives me.

Because when women rise together, we all rise. Empowered women empower women.
