The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) is a world-class centre for multi-disciplinary disaster prevention research and communication. ICLR was established by Canada’s property and casualty (p&c) insurance industry as an independent, not-for-profit research institute affiliated with Western University. Institute staff and research associates are international leaders in wind and seismic engineering, atmospheric science, risk perception, hydrology, economics, geography, health sciences, public policy and a number of other disciplines.

They are a wealth of information when it comes of loss prevention in the Canadian Climate. As we enter into the dry season check out their library of information on Wildfires!

Nobody thinks it’s okay to drive while distracted, yet most people have likely done it at some point. Distracted driving can be just as dangerous as drunk driving — and these days, it’s much more common. 🚓😬

But it’s not just texting that puts drivers at fault.

Anything that takes your attention away from the road is a distraction. Eating, drinking, smoking, va**ng, fixing your hair, putting on makeup or even fiddling around with the stereo could all be considered distractions.

So, are you guilty of these things? Sure, we can all get distracted, but the key is to consciously try to change this behaviour.
