We’re constantly looking back at the "steady" days of 2019, but the reality is that the math of real estate has moved on. Being a homeowner in the Golden Age of Uncertainty isn't about waiting for the perfect moment—it’s about having a plan that accounts for the movement.

Here is what’s actually happening for your mortgage and your equity this week:

The Yield Reality: 5-year bond yields are sitting at 3.208%. While that’s higher than the 1.2% lows of 2019, it’s creating a new baseline for fixed rates. Stability is found in knowing your numbers, not just hoping for a drop.

The BoC: Holding rates at 2.25% last week shows a commitment to balance. For buyers, this means a more predictable environment to stress-test your budget, even as the labor market shifts.
