Local people. Local causes. Local impact. 💚

Sometimes, making a difference starts with a simple local connection. Thanks to Jason Vokey from our Fonthill Branch, PenFinancial had the opportunity to support Horse Sense for Kids’ Country Night, hosted at the Fonthill Legion, with a $500 contribution to each organization.

It was a great opportunity to support two organizations that contribute to the Pelham community in different, but equally meaningful ways. Horse Sense for Kids creates opportunities for local children to build confidence, connection and life skills, while the Fonthill Legion continues to provide an important space for community connection, events and local initiatives. And that’s what being a credit union is all about to us.

Our employees live here, work here and build relationships here. Those relationships help us better understand what matters in our communities and where local support can make a difference.
A big thank you to Jason for making the connection, and to both organizations for everything they contribute to Pelham.

👠 Walking the walk. Talking the talk. And showing up for our community.

As the presenting sponsor of Gillian’s Place’s 20th annual Walk a Mile in HER Shoes, we’re proud to stand behind an event that brings our community together to take a stand against gender-based violence. On Saturday, October 17, allies from across Niagara will come together at the Niagara Pen Centre to raise critical funds and awareness in support of Gillian’s Place. And our own VP, Commercial, Ryan Campbell, is taking his role as a Walk a Mile Ambassador to heart. This past weekend, Ryan and his family joined the Grape & W**e Parade, where he walked the entire parade in heels, starting conversations, raising awareness and encouraging others to step up alongside him.

Ryan has also been busy fundraising and recruiting allies to his team, and he’s already raised more than $1,600 toward his $2,000 goal! To us, this is what being a Truly Local Ambassador is all about. It’s not simply about living and working in Niagara. It’s about showing up for the people and organizations working to make our community safer and stronger.

That’s why this partnership matters to PenFinancial, and why we hope it matters to our members, too. When you bank Truly Local, you’re part of a credit union that believes our success should help create positive change right here in the communities we share. 💚

💚 $2,600 raised for Community Crew!

Our Garrison Branch’s annual Shred Day is about more than safely clearing out old documents. It’s about turning a simple community service into meaningful local impact.

Thanks to the generosity of our members and community, this year’s Shred Day raised $2,600 for Community Crew, a Truly Local organization helping children arrive at school nourished, encouraged and ready to learn through nutritious lunches, enrichment opportunities and caring community connections.

We were so proud to present the cheque and see our community’s generosity go right back into supporting kids here in Niagara. That’s what being Truly Local is all about: recognizing where support is needed and finding ways to make a difference, together. 💚

A huge thank you to SafeStor Records Management, whose support makes Shred Day possible, and to our incredible Garrison Branch team for organizing and running this event year after year. When our employees, members, local businesses and community organizations come together, small actions can add up to a pretty big impact. 🌱
