Ever come into a chunk of money and freeze up trying to figure out what to do with it? đź’°
You're not alone. One of the most common questions I hear from clients: "Should I invest it all right away, or spread it out over time?"
The answer is genuinely nuanced — and The Wealthy Barber breaks it down really well in this short video.
Here's my take: the data actually favours investing all at once. The longer your money is in the market, the more it can grow. But — and this is a big but — if a market dip right after you invest would cause you to panic and sell? That wipes out any advantage.
The strategy that works best is the one you can stick with. For a lot of people, that means going in partway right away and easing the rest in over a couple of years.
Worth a watch if you've got a windfall, inheritance, or lump sum you're trying to figure out 👇

Speaking with retirees there seems to be a misconception of what "Safety" is when investing. People don't tend to consider the fact that running out of money during your lifetime is a key risk and by earning low returns on "guaranteed" investments dramatically increases this risk. Costs of living continue to increase, and it is important to achieve a balance of low risk investing and still earning enough to maintain your standard of living throughout retirement!
