It’s been a little while since I’ve shown up on here.
To be honest, I’ve started writing this post more times than I can count because I never really knew what to say.
The last month has been one we’ll never forget. Losing our home in a fire changed our lives overnight.
But through it all, we’ve been surrounded by the most incredible people. The love and support we’ve received from our family, friends, neighbours, coworkers, members and even complete strangers has meant more than I could ever put into words.
If there’s one thing this experience has taught me, it’s just how much home really means.
As we get ready to build our own home, I’ll be learning the process from a totally different side than I ever expected. It’s definitely not a journey I’d imagined we’d be on, but I know it’s going to teach me a lot and give me a whole new appreciation for everything that goes into building a home.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in, dropped off a meal, sent a message, been patient with me, or simply thought about our family. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to express how grateful we are.
We still have a long road ahead of us, but I know our family is going to get through it.
I’m really happy to be back. ❤️
