The Bank of Canada held its overnight at 2.25% in today’s announcement.

“The continuing conflict in the Middle East is keeping energy prices high. As well, new US tariffs and Canadian counter-measures have been announced following the breakdown of trade talks between Canada and the United States. Both situations remain fluid,” noted the central bank in a statement.

“As expected, Canadian economic activity strengthened in the second quarter, with GDP up by 3.3%, following very weak growth in the first quarter. While some of the recent strength reflected temporary factors, the pick-up in activity was broad-based.”

How does this affect you as a mortgage holder? If you have a variable rate mortgage, bank prime will remain steady and you won’t see a change in your interest rate.

If you have a fixed rate mortgage, this announcement has no impact on your rate.

The rumour that the office will be closing is absolutely 100% FALSE!!!!

As one of Ontario's top mortgage brokers, I've been given an amazing opportunity to open another franchise in British Columbia, all while maintaining the Walkerton office.

The Walkerton office will remain OPEN and active. Alicia will still be physically in the office Monday through Friday and I will be available every day via phone, email, and Zoom.

🕐 The best part for you is that I will be in a different time zone which means I can answer your questions after hours!

I’ll travel back and forth every few months to check-in on things and participate in community events. You won't even notice I'm gone.

I’m not leaving you! Clients rarely come into the office anymore to see me since everything’s done virtually. It'll be business as usual except my view won't be of Skips Tirecraft, it will be of the Pacific Ocean!
