Update!!

The bench is complete and will be delivered this weekend !!!!

A couple of months back, I was approached by a sweet lady in Saskatoon to make a piece honoring her father. He is 97 and still mobile and loving life. After much discussion and her telling me about his life, we settled on a bench for the garden. What makes this special is that it will be made from all of his old tools that she has collected over the years. He was also an avid gardener and lived Lillies.

This is a special one as it is celebrating his continued life, and I am honored to be a part of it.

I had to make a small structural frame, just for strength, as most of the tools are cast iron, and that doesn't hold well structurally.

The bench is 44" across and 36" high overall. It will be rusted after and coated to preserve. The seat will be made of old elevator wood.

This turned out beautifully,and it seemed to flow without any issues. Which is surprising as it's my first bench. I know that we would be proud to have it in our home.

As many of you know, my true love, in creating with metal, is getting the opportunity to do custom commissioned pieces for people.

A couple of months back, I was approached by a sweet lady in Saskatoon to make a piece honoring her father. He is 97 and still mobile and loving life. After much discussion and her telling me about his life, we settled on a bench for the garden. This is a special one as it is celebrating his continued life, and I am honored to be a part of it. Now, most of you know that I claim to really not draw anything out before I build.....however this "scribble" is all i did to start this.

Once again this year we will be returning to ECOm outside of Hague. This Saturday May 9 from 9-4.

We will be in our normal spot, A85, A86, A87. We have so many new pieces this year, and can't wait to show them off. We hope to see you there

Almost every show, we get random people always asking "but have you ever made this?". That is how 50% of the newer items we carry always come about.

Last shownin Nipawin, we had someone ask if I had ever made anything to do with firemen. Being a former Firefighter myself (another fun fact about me) I wanted to try this out. I messed around in the shop for a few hours and came up with this.

This is "courage". $145.00 CAD+tax

It stands 8.5" tall and depicts a fireman climbing a laddle to help control a fire. A railway spike was used, along with other scrap pieces, to create this. It is then polished, flames colored and clearcoated. The steel is then epoxied into the scrap granite piece.
