So your mortgage is up for renewal. Exciting, right? With all the different lenders to choose from, finding the best rate, term lengths, extending your amortization to help lower your payments, renew or refinance to complete that renovation you’ve been dreaming about, consolidating debt like a LOC, credit cards, auto loans to make your payments more manageable and simplistic (and typically smaller I might add…) So many options!
But do you really want to “shop around” at the 5 major banks and negotiate back and forth for days or even months on end? No, you probably don’t, but I do! And not only do I “shop” the big banks, but I have over 30 lenders to negotiate with, all of which want your business but you don’t have access to them. These are called Monoline Lenders, and the only difference is they don’t handle day to day banking, which is why you haven’t heard of them. They strictly do business related to lending. Side note, they’re often funded by those big banks you give your hard earned money too.
Now, that’s not to say the big banks aren’t worth negotiating with. I still work with a handful of them and they’re often very competitive. However, there are a lot more options to choose from, you just have to know where to find them, and that’s where I come in. Working on your behalf I can explore not only different lenders, but the different ways to make your mortgage work better for you and your family.
If your mortgage is up for renewal, make the call. Not only can you take the stress off yourself and free up some time to do the fun things in life, but it also doesn’t cost you a penny. I’d say that’s worth it.
