This little piece of art sits on a telephone pole in the beautiful neighbourhood I'm fortunate enough to be staying in.

Those words hit differently after an unfortunate experience I had this week.

An opinion was formed. A judgment was made. A message was sent without inquiry, without curiosity, without seeking understanding.

It's so easy to judge. It's so easy to assume we know someone's character based on a moment, a conversation, or someone else's perspective. Curiosity asks us to do something harder—to wonder what we might not know.

This week showed me how differently things can land when they come from a place of assumption and judgment rather than from a place of grace and curiosity.

This week reminded me how important it is to ask rather than assume. How important it is to seek understanding rather than rush to judgment.

More curiosity.
More compassion.
More grace.

Sometimes curiosity is one of the greatest acts of kindness we can offer.
