Lake Country Financial Group

Lake Country Financial Group Prepare now. Relax later. By 2017, the dream expanded as Debbie welcomed her daughter, Emma Lang, into the business, envisioning her as the eventual successor.

Our story at Lake Country Financial Group began in 2007, when our founder, Debbie Lang, realized her dream of becoming a Certified Financial Planner and transitioned from a successful 17-year banking career to join Freedom 55 Financial, a division of London Life Insurance. Debbie's vision was clear: to offer comprehensive financial planning services that went beyond what traditional banking could

provide to her clients in Northwestern Ontario and beyond. In 2013, recognizing the power of collaboration, Debbie joined forces with the Branstone Financial Strategies team to enhance the value she could deliver to her clients. In 2022, her son, Zach Lang, joined as a para-planner and consultant. With family at the core, 2023 marked a significant milestone as we rebranded to Lake Country Financial Group, a name deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Together, Debbie, Emma, Zach, and our dedicated administrative assistant, Debbie, are committed to providing holistic multigenerational financial strategies to all our clients, reflecting our journey and dedication to helping others achieve financial success and peace of mind. We are proud to continue this mission as part of the Branstone Financial Strategies family, while our new name represents the region where we live and serve. Insurance products, including segregated fund policies are offered through Lake Country Financial Group, and Debbie (Deborah) Lang and Emma Lang offer mutual funds and referral arrangements through Quadrus Investment Services Ltd.

It’s hard to believe Hudson is already ONE!

He may only be celebrating his first birthday, but he’s already put in quite a few hours on the job — spending plenty of time at the Lake Country Financial Group office with Mom and Gramma, and logging some pretty impressive flight time flying with Mom, Dad and Grampa. ✈️

From office meetings to airplane adventures, Hudson has certainly had a busy first year — and has reminded all of us just how quickly a year can fly by. ❤️

We talk a lot about planning for the future around here, but milestones like this are also a great reminder to enjoy the moments along the way.

Happy 1st Birthday, Hudson! We can’t wait to see where your next year takes you.

🍎 Happy First Day of School! 📚

As we walk out of summer and into a new school year, it’s a reminder of just how quickly the seasons — and the years — seem to pass.

The first day of school brings new beginnings, new adventures and lots of opportunities to learn and grow.

From all of us at Lake Country Financial Group, we’re wishing students, families, teachers and school staff a wonderful first day and a fantastic year ahead!

Here’s to soaking up those last days of summer and stepping into a great new season.

When the headlines get noisy, perspective matters.

There has been plenty of attention this week on the latest Canada–U.S. tariffs. While the headlines may sound dramatic, the direct impact is currently concentrated in certain industries and represents only a relatively small portion of Canada’s overall exports to the U.S.

What may matter more over time is uncertainty. When businesses aren’t sure what the rules will look like six months or a year from now, they may delay hiring, expansion and investment—and those decisions can have a longer-lasting effect on the economy.

For investors, periods like this are a good reminder of why we build financial plans and diversified portfolios for the long term, rather than reacting to each new headline.

Markets have navigated trade disputes and periods of uncertainty before. The focus remains on diversification, disciplined investment management and making decisions based on your goals—not the news of the day.

At Lake Country Financial Group, that’s an important part of what we do: helping our clients understand what today’s news means for their financial plan—and, just as importantly, what it doesn’t mean.

The Dryden Fall Fair always feels like one of those signs that summer is starting to wind down!

Ollie and Hudson had a pretty great day at the fair with their pony, Pip. 🐴❤️

As we head toward fall, it’s also a good time to start thinking about the financial planning items that tend to come up in the last few months of the year — especially for families.

Whether it’s RESP withdrawals for a student heading back to school, making RESP contributions before year-end, reviewing RRSP and TFSA contributions, or simply checking in on the goals you set earlier this year, a little planning now can make the end of the year much easier.

The seasons seem to change quickly — and the years even faster when you’re watching little ones grow!

Aviation has a special place in our Lake Country family — so National Aviation Week seems like the perfect excuse to share this pretty great shot of Hudson, the plane, and a rainbow! 💙

Living and working in Northwestern Ontario, we see firsthand the important role aviation plays in connecting our communities.

This week, we’re celebrating the pilots, crews and aviation professionals who keep the North connected — and maybe one future little aviator too! ✈️

Happy National Aviation Week!

We couldn’t be happier with this stunning commissioned piece, “En Route,” by Erin Briska Art.

To us, this painting represents so much of what financial planning is all about. Life is full of twists, turns, and changing conditions, but with a thoughtful plan and trusted guidance, you can navigate the journey with confidence.

Our goal has always been to help clients arrive at a place where they can simply sit back, enjoy the view, and focus on what matters most.

Thank you, Erin, for creating a piece that reflects both the beauty of our region and the values of Lake Country Financial Group.
