🛑 BREAKING! The Bank of Canada is holding its policy rate at 2.25% for the sixth consecutive meeting, and says that it expects the Canadian economy to improve, despite flatlined growth over the past 18 months.
But while the economy is showing signs of improvement and inflation is falling, the Bank of Canada's new monetary policy report released today warns that uncertainty caused by US tariffs and the restarting war in the Middle East could derail potential economic growth.
As a result, the prime rate for variable-rate and lines of credit remains at 4.45%. The next scheduled interest rate announcement is on Sep 2, 2026. More to come on www.mortgagelegko.com
