2023 was a year of transition in my life and while the journey is never ending, the achievements along the way are worth celebrating.
For the 40-something Dad's who are often over-worked, over-looked, over-stressed, and over-tired, there is a better way.
A healthier and smarter way to stay or get in shape and fortify both your body and mind. 🧠💪🏼
1. Have a really strong 'Why' before you decide to make changes. This will keep you accountable to yourself. Mine is 👧🏻 and she's my entire life. I want to be here for her for as long as I can and I never want her to hear the words "I'm too tired to play with you". She's watching, she's learning, and she's going to emulate what she sees.
2. Follow a plan. I follow and the community. It keeps me accountable and keeps me disciplined, especially during this season when it's cold and dark and the last thing I sometimes want to do is grind.
3. Eat better. Even micro-changes make a difference. Eat whole foods, and eat them at the right time. I do intermittent fasting and it works really well for my body. I follow the 17-6 but start with 16-8. Google it if you're not familiar. It'll change your life and you'll have so much energy you won't know what to do with it all.
4. Be kind to yourself if you mess up, get injured, lose motivation, or lack confidence. It happens to the best of us - But remember this: Your life is yours to define. The world is heavy. The news is heavy, and the people who you love and who love you deserve the best version of you. And you deserve to be happier, healthier, and to feel more alive.
✨ I'm 43 and feel better now than 33 and even 23. Focus on the changes you can make, then take daily steps towards your goals.
1% better than the day before. That's it. That's all it takes. 💪🏼
