Highlights:
- Introduced to help first-time buyers save for a downpayment!
- Lifetime contribution of $40,000
- Annual contribution of $8,000
- Contributions may be income tax deductible (Similar to a RRSP)

The Bank of Canada overnight rate from 1.50% to 2.50%! 📈

- Introduced to combat inflation
- The biggest rate hike since 1998
- Next interest rate announcement scheduled for Sept. 7

How does this affect my variable mortgage?
- When the overnight rate changes, the central banks’ prime rate usually changes as well.
- Most variable rate mortgages will see an increase of $55/month increase for every $100k mortgage.
