In a World where you can be anything, be kind. As a person that was directly impacted by bullying, I know the impact it can have on people, especially children. Today is a day to talk about your own experiences and share your story with those around you. Whenever I share my own story, I'm surprised by those that take the time to also share theirs and how it impacted them. You never know what someone else is going through or been through. For those experiencing bullying, I hear you, I see you, I'm here for you and bullying of any kind is not ok.

πŸ“’The BoC continues to raise rates to fight inflation at any and all costs

For those keeping score, that's
10 increases
475 basis points in increases (4.75%)
Variable payments are now up 65-77%

This is on the backdrop of the BoC stating in clear language that you can rest assured interest rates will stay low through 2023.

There are all sorts of creative solutions to help individuals that find themselves cash strapped. Interestingly enough, most variable rate mortgage holders have been resilient with only 15 out of 10,000 having any difficulties to date, which even if that number increases by 100%, would still be very low by global standards.

Fingers crossed this is the last one, and when rates finally come down, we'll be able to rejoice once again.

This quote from Harvey Milk really summed it all up nicely

It takes no compromise to give people their rights. It takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no survey to remove repressions.

Bank of Canada finally holds rates...and the villagers rejoice.

There is a lot of speculation that the BoC may decrease rates in 2023, our bet is we won't see that until 2024. The key driver to see interest rates to start decreasing will be an increase in unemployment, which is yet to rear its head, but is anticipated given the current recessionary headwinds. Once that happens, the most aggressive estimates suggest of a long term neutral position for the BoC rate would be that rates could come down by 2%, only time and economic data will tell how things will actually play out.
