The Bank of Canada has decided not to change interest rates this time. They're staying put at 5.00%.

Even though our economy isn't growing fast, the Bank is still watching out for inflation. They're ready to bump up rates if they need to to keep things balanced.

The focus now? They want to see inflation calming down more consistently.

So, what does this mean for you?

If you have a variable-rate mortgage, your rate won't change because of this announcement.

Good news for variable-rate mortgage holders in Canada! 🏡 The Bank of Canada has decided to keep its key lending rate steady at 5.00%. This comes after 10 rate hikes since March 2022. The Bank's decision is based on signs that their policy is helping control spending and prices. However, they're still watchful about inflation and might adjust rates if needed. For now, there's no change to the prime rate or existing variable mortgages. Fixed-rate mortgage holders? No impact for you! 🎉 Mark your calendars for the Bank's next update on December 6.
