The Croatian Foundation of Windsor has recently established a scholarship endowment fund, with the first scholarship being named after the late Dr. Elana Christine Fric.
We are proud to announce that we will be accepting applications for the inaugural scholarship for the upcoming Fall 2021 Semester.
Dr. Elana Fric was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, physician and friend. Elana was very proud of her Croatian heritage and was extensively involved in the Croatian community of Windsor while excelling in her academic studies that lead her to a rewarding career in medicine.
The Croatian Foundation of Windsor Scholarship Fund was created to assist students to financially achieve their academic, professional and community leadership goals. It also intends to help build a commitment to the growth and preservation of the Croatian heritage within Windsor-Essex County.
The Dr. Elana C. Fric Memorial Scholarship will award $1000 in 2021 to a student who is currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary program or has been accepted into a full-time accredited College or University institution.

Criteria
Candidates must specifically meet all of the following criteria:
A. Be enrolled in a full-time accredited post-secondary institution or accepted into one.
B. Have completed their prior year of study with a minimum of 75% or GPA equivalent. Official transcripts or most recent marks are required.
C. Demonstrate leadership and participation in both the Croatian community and local community at large.
D. Must submit a Biography describing:
• academic achievements,
• community involvement,
• future goals and aspirations.
E. Must submit 2 letters of reference.
