All about the RDSP

The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is a Canada-wide registered matched savings plan for people with disabilities.
Here are some basics:

For every $1 put in an RDSP account, the federal government will match it (if your family income is below $95,259) with up to $3! This is the Canada Disability Savings Grant.

For people living on a low-income (less than $31,120), the federal government will invest $1000 each year for 20 years! This is the Canada Disability Savings Bond.

People living on an income between $31,120 and $47,630 can still receive a partial bond.

Anyone can contribute to an RDSP – family, friends, and even neighbours. This gives people who want to help a way to do so!

RDSPs offer some of the best returns on investment available. Your money will grow. It might even triple in size!

The RDSP is exempt from most provincial disability and income assistance benefits. The government will not claw this money back. (To find out how your province treats the RDSP, go to www.disabilitysavings.gc.ca.)

There are no restrictions on how RDSP withdrawals are spent.

Do Single People Need Life Insurance?

Most people invest in life insurance to take care of their spouse and children. However, single people invest into life insurance for different reasons.
1.) They have loved ones to take care of, such as parents or less fortunate siblings.
2.) They may have a friend or relative who co-signed a student loan or mortgage. The co-signers will be on the hook if they're gone.
3.) They may start a family soon and want to buy when the cost is lower or while they are still healthy and insurable.
4.) They want to take advantage of the tax benefits of saving in the policy and have coverage at the same time.
5.) They want to leave a legacy to the cause they're passionate about.
6.) They are in a business partnership and want to protect the business.

People who understand how life insurance works find that it's another great investment vehicle where they can use to grow and save their money tax sheltered with the benefits of having proper protection at the same time.

What is the definition of a, "Will"?
A Will is a legal document that allows you to distribute your property to those of your choosing. It allows you to assign specific items from your estate to one person and other items to other people or an organization. You can also name an executor, the person who will carry out your wishes.
Wills also give you opportunity to pick a guardian for your young children. The guardian will be responsible for their welfare.
If you don't have a will, the government will use their standard will to decide how to distribute your estate, and you may not like what they do.
Feel free to message me if you have any inquires in regards of Wills!

Understand Life Insurance:
Life Insurance isn't a fun topic, but it's a critical part of your financial strategy. People don't often talk about it. Most don't understand it, few want to buy it. Even those people who buy it don't necessarily understand it or appreciate its importance in building and preserving wealth. As a result, a lot of people don't have any Life Insurance protection. If they do, most don't have enough. Today, people have all kinds of protection. They insure their house, cars, phones and appliances. They even buy travel insurance for their vacations. But when it comes to life insurance, most people remain skeptical. The most important insurance that protects their family and their children is not taken seriously. Life Insurance doesn't insure your life. It insures your family's ability to continue on without being financially devastated.

Few people think about estate planning. Of course if people don't do much in terms of savings, investments, and insurance, estate planning will not be on their priority list. Everybody has an estate, your estate is everything you own minus your debt, such as your house, car, money in the bank, family heirlooms, etc. Imagine you work hard all your entire life and built up an estate. You want to pass It on to someone, but it ends up with someone else due to your lack of planning. A Will or a Trust is a tool for you to organize how you want your estate to be distributed when you pass away

A Registered Retirement Savings Plan is a Savings vehicle for Canadians to save for their retirement. Inside an RRSP you have many options for investing. All contributions are tax deductible. For example, if you are in a 40% tax bracket, you would save $4,000 in taxes on a $10,000 contribution. Your net cost of the $10,000 is only $6,000. All growth inside the RRSP grows tax deferred until withdrawal this can have a good effect on the value of the RRSP since no tax is paid on any growth along the way. But remember: The tax will be paid later when you withdraw
