The Keil Financial Team is incredibly proud to be increasing our fundraising efforts in support of the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon (RMH BC) with our ScotiaMcLeod Share the Wealth Award donation of $12,000. This past February, our team donated over $16,000 to RMH BC on behalf of our 120 Nights for 12 Years of Service campaign, and in May, we visited RMH BC to host a taco dinner for the families staying at the house.

Share the Wealth community awards acknowledge the contribution of ScotiaMcleod employees as volunteers and leaders in their communities. Along with being recognized for our philanthropic efforts, the ScotiaMcLeod Charitable Foundation is donating $12,000 to the Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. We were delighted to pay another visit to our friends at RMH BC to present the cheque.

The Keil Financial Team was honoured to be the first group in over two years to host a family meal at the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon. Accompanied by our ScotiaMcLeod colleagues, Jessica and Erin and my wife, Arleigh, our small but mighty team of seven put together a taco bar, caesar salad on side and cookies for dessert for 62 families, totalling to 110 adults and 15 kids. Pre-Covid, groups would host a family meal at RMH BC three to four nights per week. Having a night off from cooking is a huge relief for the thousands of families who call RMH BC home each year.

Being a part of the resumption of the Family Meal Program and helping make the lives of the RMH BC families a bit easier was a true pleasure. We can't wait to suit up in our aprons and hair nets again in the future to host another family meal!

The Keil Financial Team took a fieldtrip to the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon yesterday to tour the house and present a cheque for $16,176 on behalf our 120 Nights for 12 Years of Service campaign.

From the freshly baked muffins in the kitchen to the very impressive Lego room, this home away from home for healing children and their families is filled with so much hope, love, and care.

Thank you to Sunshine Purificacion and her Community Development team for helping us organize our campaign, and thank you again to everyone who liked, shared, and donated in support of 120 Nights for 12 Years of Service. We are incredibly proud to be a part of this outstanding organization's community!

On behalf of the Keil Financial Team and our friends at the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, thank you to everyone who liked, shared, and donated in support of our 120 Nights for 12 Years of Service campaign.

We exceeded our original fundraising goal $15,000 by collectively raising $16,176! Our donation will provide 129 nights of accommodation for a family to stay at RMH BC when they must leave home in search of life-saving medical care for their child.

Below are a few tips for discussing estate planning with your family:

1. Talk about the executor - Tell your family who you chose for this position, and why you chose them.
