Compliance in private lending isn't getting simpler in 2026.

Borrowers want digital processes, investors want visibility, and regulators want consistent records, even as loan structures and jurisdictions vary.

The lenders handling this well have one thing in common, their documentation, borrower verification, and reporting are tied to the loan record instead of scattered across inboxes and spreadsheets.

Our latest article breaks down what's changing this year and includes a practical compliance checklist you can use to review your own operation.

Why Mortgage Automator acquired Lendr and what comes next.

Both companies were built by people who came out of the private lending industry and set out to solve the same problem, giving lenders software actually built for how they work.

Nothing changes today. Both platforms keep running and keep getting better, now backed by a larger combined team. We're working toward one unified platform for lenders at every stage, across the US and Canada.

CEO Alexander shares the full story behind the acquisition and what it means for lenders on both platforms.

Compliance risk doesn't start at report prep. It starts earlier, when HMDA fields get entered inconsistently, or documents sit outside the loan file.

Our latest article examines why compliance has become harder for non-bank lenders.

Only 10% of financial institutions run a fully automated compliance management system, and lenders relying on spreadsheets and email reported seven times as many examiner questions as automated peers.

If HMDA reporting or fair lending reviews have been eating more time than they should, this one's for you.

Construction and fix-and-flip lenders: does your budget live anywhere near your active loan file?

For most lenders we talk to, the answer is no. It’s off in its own spreadsheet, or in a separate platform completely detached from the loan itself.

Draw Management brings them into the same system.

Build your budget once, manage every draw right inside the loan file, and track Project Health scores across active loans. You'll catch budget drift before it turns into a phone call you didn't see coming.

You'd think passing every check means you're in the clear. This case proves otherwise.

Victor Tay, who runs Minerva and was previously Chief AML Officer at Wells Fargo Canada, discusses a client who cleared onboarding with zero red flags. Six months later, a transaction-monitoring alert flagged fraud, prompting media exposure across Europe and Asia.

Here's the gap. Domestic checks only tell you what's happening inside one country's records. They can't catch sanctions, foreign enforcement actions, or adverse media coverage happening elsewhere. If your screening stops at the border, so does your visibility into risk.

We covered this case along with the rest of the fraud examples from the panel in our webinar, "Before You Fund".

Fraud isn't happening evenly across the country.

It's piling up in a handful of states, and a couple of them might catch you off guard.

from walks through numbers from a recent Cotality report, a 6.1% jump in mortgage application fraud, with New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, California, and Florida topping the list. Connecticut and Rhode Island stood out even to him.

We broke down the rest of this data, along with the other fraud cases shared on the panel, in our recap of the "Before You Fund" webinar.
