Dear New Immigrants,

Moving to a new country comes with hope, courage, and a lot of silent pressure. You’re expected to figure everything out fast.
But here’s the part no one tells you early enough:
Most financial stress for newcomers doesn’t come from lack of effort. It usually comes from not understanding how money works in this system.

• Credit scores.
• Taxes.
• Rent vs ownership.
• Insurance.
• Debt.
• Saving while supporting family back home.
None of us were taught this before we arrived.

So, if you’re working hard, earning income, and still feel like money disappears, please hear this: you are not irresponsible, lazy, or behind. You’re simply learning a new system in a new country, often without guidance.

•Take your time.
• Ask questions.
• Learn before you rush decisions.
• Build slowly, but intentionally.

Financial peace in Canada is not about earning more first. It’s about understanding more first.
