Battle on Bay is a milestone event and has grown exponentially since it first began in 2007. In its eleventh year, the competition continues to foster delegates’ strong partnerships with the industry’s most brilliant leaders, while invoking valuable knowledge and
innovation. We are excited to announce that our theme this year is E-Commerce: with numerous retailers adapting to the e-commerce platfo
rm, and with the success of Amazon and Walmart in the E-commerce space, RUFS believes it would be a perfect opportunity to explore this theme for Battle on Bay 2018. Our first ever 3 day conference will begin on January 11, 2018, and finish with a 3-course Awards Gala dinner on Saturday, January 13, 2018. There will be 2 parts to the case competition: the first case will be distributed approximately a week prior to the competition date. Teams will work together to produce their deliverables by the submission deadline. Both cases will be presented to a panel of judges comprised of business and academic professionals. Throughout the 3 days, delegates will participate in engaging workshops, panel discussions, and numerous networking opportunities with panelists, judges, speakers, and professionals in the e-commerce and finance field. Why should I apply? Participating delegates are already one step closer to reaching their dream careers as they showcase their analytical, technical, and presentation skills to solve real life financial issues to judges. These judges are comprised of experienced professionals in the field of E-Commerce or Finance. Delegates are taking part in a challenging case competition right in the heart of the financial district of Toronto. Additionally, the judges will provide feedback to the delegates to ameliorate their presentation and case solving skills, as well as network with the delegates during the Networking Night taking place on January 12, 2017. Delegates will have the opportunity to compete amongst students from other top universities, and participate in workshops that will further develop their skills. Battle on Bay provides the opportunity to meet fellow like minded business students and provides a platform to share ideas and broaden the professional network of delegates. We strive to ameliorate this year’s conference, in the hopes of providing all delegates, sponsors, and esteemed guests with a competition experience paralleled by none. Awards
