The CFLMT vision is to strengthen ties between Lebanon-the nearly 80 communities along the LMT, and Lebanese Canadians, Canadian hikers, and friends of Lebanon, and to encourage them to visit Lebanon, walk on the LMT, and discover or re-discover the unique natural and cultural heritage of the mountains of Lebanon. The CFLMT celebrates a special Canadian-Lebanese friendship between two trails the L
MT and the Bruce Trail. We usually organize hikes and events in celebration of this friendship. CFLMT objectives and purposes are to promote awareness of the LMT and to provide financial and technical support for the protection, maintenance, and promotion of the trail. The CFLMT will provide funds, at the discretion of its executive committee, to non-profit organizations in Lebanon, including the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA), to help it implement programs and events that will further the purpose of the CFLMT. Candidate LMTA programs of interest to the CFLMT include Adopt a Trail, Guesthouse Upgrades, Become an LMT Volunteer, Annual Thru-Walk events, and programs intended to engage youth in place-based education, outdoor recreation and learning, and public-service projects.
