Low risk investments are for you if you want some portfolio protection (less exposure to stock market), some higher income without investing in high dividend stocks that are riskier, and monthly recurring cashflow. ๐Ÿค“

But your growth will be limited...there are always tradeoffs!

Remember, low risk does NOT mean 0 risk. There are still elements of risk involved.

Today I invested in a private Music Royalty Fund for a client โ€” and this is one of my favourite diversifiers.

Itโ€™s not correlated to the stock market, because the revenue comes from something totally different: royalties.๐ŸŽผ

Every time a song is streamed on Spotify, played on YouTube, used in a commercial, performed at a concert, played at a wedding โ€” the fund collects income. ๐Ÿค‘

And that income gets distributed to investors.

Itโ€™s efficient, itโ€™s predictable, and it provides steady cashflow, which is perfect for my clients who want stability without giving up returns.

Itโ€™s also a private market investment, so you wonโ€™t find this on your brokerage app โ€” but it does incredible work inside a diversified, income-focused portfolio.

Private funds have liquidity risks- you can't just sell them immediately and expect cash in your account like a stock or ETF.

It can take anywhere from 30 days or more to get cash back, hence these investments are for long-term holds.

I am one lucky duck.

If you do get drawn, lots of waiting and patience...and have multiple tabs open just in case.

2 hours of waiting time in total for me.

Prices will probably go up again (hopefully not ๐Ÿ™„).

Net Take Home Monthly Income - Fixed Recurring Expenses = Money available for savings and variable spending

Set a savings amount that will leave you enough for variable expenses.

E.g. $500 per month savings, $800 per month for variable spending (or roughly $200 per week)

$200 per week allowance for variable expenses. Do not go over this amount!

And if the marriage works out, fantastic! ๐Ÿฅณ

If it doesn't, the financial consequences can be devastating.

Hence, choose wisely.
