BoC 0.25% rate cut this morning is definitely some welcome good news, especially after the long stretch of high interest rates.
- Lower borrowing costs for variable-rate mortgages, lines of credit, and business loans.
- Relief for existing borrowers seeing their interest payments ease slightly.
- Improved sentiment in housing and stock markets, as lower rates can stimulate spending and investment.
If cuts continue, it could signal that the Bank of Canada feels more confident about inflation coming under control.
