Famous Person: Andrew Carnegie π
Born in poverty in Scotland in 1835, Andrew Carnegie immigrated to North America and built one of the greatest industrial fortunes in history through the steel industry. When he sold Carnegie Steel in 1901, he was among the wealthiest people in the world.
What followed was equally remarkable: Carnegie gave away approximately 90% of his fortune during his lifetime β funding libraries, universities, and public institutions across North America and beyond. His philosophy was clear: wealth is a responsibility, not just an achievement.
