They don’t call you on your birthday. They charge exorbitant fees and unlike what I do, their returns are south of 12%. Beware of the companies that control your money. You should be treated as a person not a number, you deserve education and you deserve to have your money work for you as hard or harder than you worked for it!
There’s a great article (facebook wont let me post) about former bank workers who explain the ways banks work and the pressure to sell products not in the best interest of the client.
- “It’s not what’s important to our clients anymore,” she said. “The bank wants more and more money. And it’s leading everyone into debt.”
- A CIBC teller said, “I am expected to aggressively sell products, especially Visa. Hit those targets, who cares if it’s hurting customers.”
- “It was like the only thing they cared about at BMO,” he said. “If you weren’t selling, you weren’t worth having around.”
“We are straight up told to tell false stories (lie) to sell products.” - TD insurance agent.
