Unfortunately I am hearing these stories more often these days, and it hits so close to home.

It's happening way to often to people I know, people I care about —cancer doesn’t care who you are or where you’re from.

Kelly’s story is a reminder that cancer can happen to anyone at any time.

As she often says now to those she speaks with, “Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer.”

Two takeaways for me after reading this-

1. never take your health for granted

2. be proactive about awareness and early detection.

As 2025 begins, I’ve been thinking about that ONE WORD to guide my year. After some reflection (and a few hints from the universe), I chose FOCUS.

With life feeling so busy and full of distractions, I realized I need to be more intentional—focused on my goals, my daily tasks, and what really matters.

As my second word I chose RECONNECT. Recently, I’ve reconnected with a few people I’d lost touch with, and it reminded me how meaningful and important it is to nurture our relationships- especially with positive, supportive people who uplift and inspire us!
