Bank of Canada held its overnight rate at 2.25% today, citing Q2 GDP growth of 3.3%, unemployment easing to 6.4%, and inflation near 3%. While the economy is rebounding, the Bank flagged rising risks from Middle East-driven oil prices and new US tariffs, and said it’s ready to adjust policy as needed. Next announcement is scheduled for October 28, 2026.
