I get asked this question often. What is the cost of breaking my ? Well, before you break your mortgage contract ahead of the maturity date, know that you will pay a penalty. How much it will cost?

Let’s Break Down The Cost Based On The Contract:

💰 Open Mortgage – Fixed or Variable Rate – It will cost you zero dollars to break this mortgage contract.

💰 Closed Mortgage - Variable Interest Rate – Your penalty will be three months of interest.

💰 Closed Mortgage – Fixed Rate – Your penalty will be the greater of 3 months or the interest rate differential (IRD).
