After a successful career in sport and event management, with the onset of COVID-19, I became a stay-at-home father to my two children who were 1 and 4 at the time. This became the most challenging and difficult role of my life and while it was often thankless and exhausting, I am so appreciative, proud and happy that I had those years. It wore me down, contributed to the end of my relationship wi
th my partner and neglected my own needs, but I see what an enormous difference it has had on my kids' lives and successes and the loving relationship I have with them can't be discounted. As I prepared to re-enter the workforce, I realized that spending hours a day commuting, being shackled to a desk in an office and racing to pick up kids, make dinner, etc. While my current role does not have the financial security of a salaried position (my income is based 100% on sales commissions), the flexibility it allows is priceless. Though I have personal interests, nothing comes close to the love and passion I have for my children and helping them enjoy and learn within their worlds. I vow to be available to them whenever they need me. I grew up in a low income family and have never earned a large salary, but I have few wants. I am resourceful, efficient and shrewd when it comes to saving and finances and look forward to creating and protecting wealth for my clients in this new role, just as I have done and plan to continue for my own family.
