HST on the sale of short term rentals
A recent court ruling had a homeowner on the hook for HST on the sale of their home because it was consistently used as a short term rental. Normally owner occupied homes are not subject to HST or Capital Gains Tax when they sell, so this ruling could have implications for those who even casually rent out their homes as a short term rental.

Just a quick real estate market update. As many of you who have been following the market might have already heard, today the Bank of Canada announced a significant interest rate decrease of 0.5%. This marks the highest decrease in this current cycle. I also briefly share some observations about the general real estate market and what I've seen in the field.
